TABNAK, Sep, 11: Pezeshkian’s comments were made during a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Latif Rashid in the Iraqi Capital City of Baghdad on Wednesday.

“Unity among Muslim countries serves as the key and secret to rooting out Zionist terrorism” besides helping neutralize sanctions against the countries, Pezeshkian said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian president referred to Iran-Iraq historic relations, hoping for further expansion of the standing financial and economic agreements between the countries.

The Iranian president also called for further attention towards enrichment of the countries’ bilateral and regional cooperation.

In the same context, he urged establishment of expert committees that could work on enhancement of the states’ political, economic, cultural, and social ties.

For his part, Rashid welcomed conclusion of more agreements and cooperation documents between the countries, and stressed the need for investment of efforts towards ditching dollar in mutual financial exchanges.

Rashid also condemned Israeli regime’s ongoing massacre of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank.

This was Pezeshkian’s first foreign trip since he took office in Iran late July.
